New Orleans | Southern Roadtrip Part I

We had very limited time in New Orleans so we planned a grueling itinerary including but not limited to: French Quarter wandering (including Jackson Square, Cafe Du Monde, and general walking around), The Garden District, Audubon Aquarium, and riding a streetcar.
We may or may not have cruised a drive thru daiquiri bar and or danced in the street. NOLA. We could have listened to the jazz bands on the street all day.

Lola's (not her real name) face says it all- BEIGNETS.

Street car to the Garden District. If you go to NOLA- don’t miss this! You pick up the streetcar off of Canal Street (you can download the RTA app or have exact change for fare- 1.25 when we were there.).

Back to the French Quarter |

I got just a few pictures at the aquarium. It was really great, but I mostly I chased small people and answered the same questions over and over. Here is one peaceful moment:

And a last few…

After NOLA we tripped all over Texas. We saw many a family member and did lots of fun things. So a few more wandering posts coming soon!
Thanks, as usual, for stopping by!

Today was a perfect Florida spring day. Koko (not her real name) and I hit up THREE different parks with three different sets of friends, we lunched by the ocean, and took a little beach walk. We’re wiped out from our fun. I love having time alone with the baby of the family while sister is at school!

Lots of images coming soon while we trek through the south!

Not Documenting

I spend a good amount of time documenting. It is my main creative outlet and I am creatively driven. So some weeks, I don’t document. I find that it is both refreshing to my family and it makes me extra excited to pick the camera up when REST WEEK is over : ).

Our big southern trip to NOLA and Texas is coming up quick and I will be doing photo documentary as well as daily vlogging, so this break is at a perfect time. These images are from last Sunday evening when we were avoiding watching the Oscars and watching the ocean instead! Our favorite pastime! I haven’t picked up my camera since then, so this is today’s blog. : )

Many more photos post rest week!

8 years ago at 10 in the morning we got married and had brunch. Then drove to Dallas to spend the night on our way to Galveston to leave on a cruise. In Dallas I was hungry and Mr went to get food so we could “relax.” Getting food in Dallas traffic on a Saturday night lasted a few hours. During those FEW HOURS I called my mom, bored, (pre smart phones- no Youtube to browse) and I ate all of the chocolate covered strawberries. I was barely hungry when Mr got back to the hotel but I ate some so that he wouldn't hate me on our wedding night.

Thankfully each year gets better- I mean, I wanted to set the standards low so that it was only up from there.

He’s the best. Weirdly motivated, loves to work but loves us more, and he is really reeeeally handsome. Somewhere along the way I realized life is hard & messy & that I am sleepy. But hard & messy & sleepy with you in the best life.
